Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is an American woman who is a businesswoman. She is currently the president as the president of Los Angeles Lakers, the National Basketball Association's controlling owners. Buss, a Californian native, grew up with an impressive background. Jerry Buss' father was a real-estate magnate who went on to own the Lakers and various other sports organizations. When her parents split in 1972 and she started to feel as if she was abandoned. In 1972, at age 19, she was employed within the family's company. She then founded in the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. Her first role was vice-president for the Lakers before taking on the presidency of the Great Western Forum. Her father died in 2013 and his controlling control of the Lakers was transferred to Buss and her five siblings by a trust of the family that gave each sibling the same vote.
