Whitney Elizabeth Houston was the youngest child of singer Dionne Warswick and gospel music legend Cissy Houston. Whitney Elizabeth Houston grew as a child in a household of musicians. The singer began her singing career in a choir at the church she attended The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark as a young child at the age of 15 was singing backing vocals professionally along with her mother on Chaka Khan's 1978 smash Im Every Woman. She continued to offer backing vocals for Lou Rawls Jermaine Jackson and her mother, and also did a brief stint as models for the cover of Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. The high quality of her performance as the vocalist featured in New York funk group Material caught the eye of major record labels, including Arista, with which she signed in 1982 and was with them for the rest of her career. Whitney Houston became the top-selling debut record for an artist in the year. The album had several smash singles, like Saving All My Love for You How Do You Know You're Good to Love And The More Love of All. This led to her achieving seven US Top Ones consecutively. She beat even the Beatles. In its first US year of release, the album had sold more than 3 million copies. After that, it was to be bought by over 25 million people worldwide, earning her the first Grammy. The Whitney album from 1987, featuring the tracks that I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Where Do Broken Hearts Get to and continued to be a huge success. It is The Bodyguard of 1992 that turned her into one of the most successful performers in the history of music. The film itself as well as her performance in it were not highly praised the soundtrack album and her rendition of the Dolly Parton song I Will Always Love You was the top of charts for albums and singles for months and sold 44 million copies around the world. That same year she got married to Bobby Brown who was a ex- New Edition singer. She was the sole daughter of Bobby and Bobbi Kristina Brown. They were married on March 23, 1993. Around this time, her well-documented substance abuse began and by 1996, Bobbi Kristina Brown used to use drugs every day.
Dana Bash is also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz and she works for CNN as a reporter, anchorwoman as well as a political correspondent. Her programs on Saturdays include Evans & Novak Late Edition, Inside Politics and Inside Politics. Bash has received many awards and was included at the top of the Women in Washington Power List from Elle magazine. She is known for her incredible anchoring and reporting abilities, she is highly regarded by many young journalists in the industry.
