April Ross

April Ross is only one of the beach volleyball players to have won medals more than once at an Olympics. Alix klineman, who is playing for the first time at the Tokyo Olympics, will try to earn her third Olympic medal. Ross hopes to win more than just her first Olympic medal. The next opportunity she gets at age 39. She remains optimistic that she'll be successful in achieving top honours. Ross said on NBC Boston: "If we try our best, and even If we play our best I believe we can get the gold medal." So I'm going to take some luck as well. Ross was born in the city of Costa Mesa, California in the year 1982. Her parents as well as her sister were residents in the area. In addition to participating in a variety of sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. She was a basketball player and also ran track in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits in her time as a college athlete. When she played in the final sport she was clearly the standout. In her own biography in high school, she was a volleyball player as an outside setter (middle blocker) and the setter (outside blocker). Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the National Player of 1999. Additionally, in 2000, she was named Orange County Athlete of the Yr for volleyball. Ross has been playing alongside Klineman since the year 2017, but Ross's beach game was established well before that. Actually Ross has been a winner of several major tournaments in her career with two partners. One of them is a legend. She teamed up together with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and was also Klineman's trainer. Along together with Kessy, Ross won an Olympic Title in 2009 when she competed in the international circuit. They won a Silver Medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the trio that could take home the gold. As fate would have it Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They both won bronze medals in beach volleyball for the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross started her college time with the Trojans at USC in high school. This was years before Ross made her debut on the sand and turned professional. Her time at USC was awe-inspiring. Her freshman year in 2000 saw her earn the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Award and also be named an All-American. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans reach the Final Four. She was devastated through a tragedy in her life during her sophomore years, yet she went on to be an All-American in her second year. In the two years she played for the Trojans they helped achieve consecutive championships. In 2003-04, Ross was named the top collegiate female volleyball player in America according to The Honda Sports Award. Ross was a student of International Relations at USC. Margie Ross was never able to see her daughter reach the top in beach volleyball. Ross's mother passed away from cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become an undergraduate student in the second year at USC. But, she will always keep her mother's memory close and close. Margie remains an inspiration on and off of the shore.
